Pre-Treatment Questions

SMP is cosmetic tattooing (hair tattooing) that offers a solution to hair loss by replicating hair follicles that are about to grow giving the impression of a shaved look. SMP can treat anywhere on the scalp that is losing hair or even complete baldness of the scalp.
Some people think we only cover a bit of your scalp, but we cover the whole areas that need to be done, you just will not have the same build up as the finished result. It will look like you have more hair follicles on your head, it will look better than when you first walked in and undetectable still.
No not at all, if anything the treatment has been known to stimulate hair growth in some cases.
No not at all even though SMP can be known as a hair tattoo, it is completely different to a tattoo. The pigments used for SMP do not change colour, complete different equipment and needles are used and a complete different technique is used. Also you have to be specially trained to perform scalp micropigmentation.
Results are permanent, but touch ups are needed 1 to 3 years, depending on lifestyle and immune system it can last longer.

Treatment Questions

The honest answer is more of a discomfort rather than pain as with a normal tattoo procedure. We advise clients to have eaten well and be in good health on the day of treatment. Our pre-treatment advice also includes moisturising the scalp twice daily in the days/weeks leading up to your procedure. This will help soften the skin. The elation you will feel after solving your hair loss issues will far outweigh any discomfort from the treatment.
1st 1 to 3 hours 2nd 1 to 3 hours and 3rd 1 to 3 hours. All quotes are for 3 visits. 1st to 2nd visit a 7-day gap and 3rd a 4-week gap.
The hair line design is entirely up to you, whether you want a nice natural, receding, sharp defined or a bit of both sharp defined and natural the choice is yours. We draw the hair line on first until your happy with the design, this can take quite a while there is no rush we got to get it right.
The first session we do not go to dark we play it safe, second session we see how the colour has settled, we get some feed back off yourself and see how much more darker we can go, the third session is the same if it needs stepping up we go darker and then we have the finished results the perfect colour match.

The treatment is perfectly safe, Every needle used is disposed of after each treatment and the equipment is cleaned after every client.

Designing your new hairline is something we take time over during your first treatment session. This can take up to 30 minutes to your first treatment session for your hairline design. We take your input on your preferred hairline whether it be a defined hairline, natural receded look, or a subtle, soft hairline, and our practitioner will advise you along the way. We begin by drawing your new hairline using a wax pencil and make any adjustments as necessary. Only once you are happy with your new hairline design do we start the Scalp Micropigmentation treatment. Although you will have a new hairline in place from your first treatment, it will be a subtle result as we build the density of your treatment over your following treatment sessions. This allows for changes to your hairline if requested on your next session.
Once grey hairs are shaved down they are hard to notice. We then match the pigment to your stubble, If your hair was to turn grey later on in life, this would have no affect on your look after having Scalp Micropigmentation. Our pigments are specially formulated to settle into the scalp over time. This means that over the years, your SMP treatment will slowly become a lighter shade, whereas others may require a touch up to freshen or darken their SMP treatment, if your hair was to turn grey, you may never require a touch up session as you would simply allow the pigments to lighten naturally as your hair turns grey.
No. Scalp micropigmentation can be referred to as a medical tattoo or hair tattoo but the treatment is performed using a completely different technique to regular tattoos. We do not go as deep into the skin as a normal tattoo. The treatment is performed by our highly skilled SMP trained practitioner using specialist pigments created for the scalp only, not tattoo ink. The needles and equipment we use are also different to those used for regular tattoos.
This Varies from client to client. We can use Scalp Micropigmentation to create the look of a full, shaved head of hair and can also use the treatment to add density to thinning hair.
For example, a client suffering from severe pattern baldness or alopecia would usually be required to shave their hair to a short length to match the SMP treatment, whereas a client who is suffering from thinning hair but still has a majority coverage may be able to keep their hair at a longer length, This is usually the case for our female, thinning hair males and post hair transplant clients.
Your practitioner will discuss this with you in more detail during your consultation.
Touch ups are £150 per hour and are required every few years or so just depends on every individual client. Some clients we do not see for 4 years for a touch but we say every few years to be on the safe side.
You get one free touch up within the year after the last session, please be aware if you miss your free touch up appointment or do not cancel within 48 hours you will be charged the touch up rate of £150 per hour.
